Taking Inventory

Published by frugalraw at 9:00 am under Holistic Health Edit This

Good Morning!

I’d like to start today’s post how I enjoy the beginning of everyday.  I like to start with a tall glass of cool water - no ice.  This is one of the kindest things you can do for yourself each day.  My glass holds about 22 ounces.  I usually drink at least 5 of those throughout the day.  How is this post like that glass of cool, satisfying water?  It’s a means of easing you into my frugal raw life…

As I stated, I begin each day with that beautiful glass of water.  I sit, and I contemplate the day - what I’ll be working on , be it art or things FRUGAL RAW!, and who I might be seeing during the day.  Then I begin my day on the computer, checking in on things, blogging, etc. and then immerse myself into my art.  I am a Fantasy Artist of woodburning and painting techniques.  Around about 10 o’clock, I’ll want something fruity and I’ll have my first food of the day.  Later in the day, I’ll have something veggie made from whatever I have available in the house.  In the evenings I like to keep it light and treat myself.  I live my life frugally and that often means making due with what you have on hand until it is gone and supplementing what you have to round out your plate.

In taking inventory of what I currently have in the house, I have bananas, oranges, frozen blueberries, carrots, tomatoes, onions, jalapenos, honey, olive oil, sunflower seeds, pecan meal, dried currants, flax seeds, ground flax, and a plethora of spices…quite the raw smorgasbord!

Looks like possibilities for smoothies this morning, and I may peel and freeze some of those bananas for ice cream later this evening.  I also see for my afternoon an opportunity for a taco salad on a carrot slaw!   I *could* swing by the store and buy whatever green leaves are on sale, but I am intrigued this morning by the concept of a humble bed of shredded carrot topped with sunny seed taco “meat” and fresh diced tomatoes, onions, and jalapeno - a fresco pico!  I think too I may add some of the pecan meal to the taco “meat” as another nuance.

I’m hoping to get out and walk today.  I have loads of creativity flowing these days and have been spending a delicious amount of hours just doing and being my art.  While this is wonderful, the body needs to get out and move!
